Malaysia and Qatar Urge Immediate Ceasefire in West Asia Conflict

Malaysia and Qatar have jointly called for an immediate cessation of the ongoing conflict in West Asia, emphasizing the urgency of accelerating humanitarian aid delivery and enhancing diplomatic efforts to reduce regional tensions. This shared stance was articulated following a telephone conversation between Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

During their discussion, the leaders reviewed the current status of peace negotiations and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, as well as efforts to de-escalate tensions involving Iran. Prime Minister Anwar underscored Malaysia’s commitment to collaborating with Qatar and other regional partners in supporting diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving enduring peace in the region.
