In a remarkable upswing, Indonesia’s stock market saw a significant increase in market value, adding Rp409 trillion ($22.7 billion) over the last week. The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) surged by 4.24%, closing at 6,175.5. This growth spurred the Indonesia Stock Exchange’s total market capitalization to reach Rp10,749 trillion ($598.2 billion).
The banking sector played a pivotal role in this rally, with substantial contributions from leading banks such as Bank Mandiri, Bank Central Asia, and Bank Rakyat Indonesia. These financial giants’ escalating share prices were instrumental in driving the benchmark index upward. Additionally, other major corporations, including Telkom Indonesia, Astra International, and Amman Mineral Internasional, bolstered the market’s positive momentum.
Trading activity experienced a notable increase during this period, with the average daily trading value climbing by more than 36%. This heightened activity underscores the vibrant market conditions as investors engaged more actively in trading.
Among individual stocks, Asia Sejahtera Mina (AGAR) stood out with an exceptional performance, skyrocketing over 138%. This was accompanied by impressive gains in stocks such as Prodia Diagnostic Line, First Media, and Multipolar Technology, which also contributed to the overall market ascent.
