Indonesia’s Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara has delineated the responsibilities of three newly appointed deputy finance ministers, aiming to bolster the country’s fiscal management and budgetary oversight. This strategic division of duties is designed to enhance focus and coordination within the ministry.
Deputy Finance Minister Juda Agung is tasked with overseeing the financial sector, international affairs, and financing. Meanwhile, Nurkholisoh Ibnu Aman will be responsible for managing state revenue streams, including taxes, customs and excise duties, and non-tax revenue. Luky Alfirman will handle state expenditure, treasury operations, and transfers to regional governments.
Despite these distinct areas of focus, Nazara emphasized that the arrangement is meant to improve collaboration rather than limit the deputies to isolated functions. All four officials, including the finance minister, will continue to work together on broader aspects of the ministry’s operations, such as organizational management, human resources, and budget planning.
The appointments of Agung, Alfirman, and Nurkholisoh were formalized under Presidential Decree No. 104P of 2026. Alfirman brings experience as a senior Finance Ministry official, and Nurkholisoh has a background as an economist and researcher at Bank Indonesia.
In related fiscal updates, Nazara reported that Indonesia’s state revenue reached approximately 2,341.5 trillion rupiah by the end of September 2026, marking a 25.5% increase from the previous year and achieving 74.2% of the government’s annual revenue target. This financial growth underscores the importance of the newly assigned roles in maintaining robust fiscal administration as the country navigates revenue collection, public spending, and regional funding strategies.
