Indonesia is gearing up for a significant role as the Official Partner Country at INNOPROM 2026, an industrial exhibition set to take place from July 6–9, 2026, in Yekaterinburg, Russia. This participation is part of Indonesia’s strategic move to attract investments, forge technology partnerships, and enhance industrial cooperation with businesses throughout the Eurasian region. The Indonesian delegation, comprising companies and government representatives, will leverage this opportunity to showcase the nation’s evolving industrial landscape, which is guided by the New National Industrialization Strategy (SBIN).
The SBIN serves as a comprehensive framework aimed at creating a more competitive and sustainable manufacturing sector in Indonesia. It addresses various modern challenges such as digitalization, energy transition, and shifting global supply chains, while aligning with Indonesia’s broader Golden Indonesia 2045 development ambitions. Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita highlighted that the strategy is designed to open doors for international partners through avenues like investment, technology transfer, and industrial capacity building. The SBIN emphasizes four primary areas: enhancing value-added production from natural resources, advancing industrial technology under the Making Indonesia 4.0 initiative, promoting green industrialization, and strengthening the industrial workforce.
As part of its participation in INNOPROM 2026, Indonesia plans to bring over 50 industrial companies to engage with potential partners across Eurasia. A key focus will be on industrial technology cooperation, with opportunities for companies in sectors like machinery, automation, petrochemicals, and advanced materials to collaborate with Indonesian manufacturers eager to modernize their operations. Additionally, investment prospects in industrial parks and downstream processing, as well as supply-chain development, are being actively promoted.
Indonesia is particularly interested in technology and investment partnerships concerning strategic minerals such as nickel, bauxite, copper, cobalt, and lithium. The country’s downstream industrial growth is anticipated to drive demand for processing technologies, manufacturing equipment, and materials engineering. Moreover, the agricultural and food-processing sectors present further collaboration opportunities, with the AGRO pavilion set to highlight ventures in food-processing technologies, logistics, distribution, and access to regional markets.
Entering the exhibition, Indonesia boasts one of Southeast Asia’s largest manufacturing bases, with a manufacturing value added estimated at approximately $265 billion, placing it 13th globally. As of August 2025, non-oil and gas manufacturing exports were reported at $147.9 billion, accounting for nearly 80% of Indonesia’s total exports. Tri Supondy, Director General of Industrial Resilience, Regional Development, and International Industrial Access, emphasized that Indonesia’s presence at INNOPROM aims to solidify its standing as a long-term industrial partner for Eurasian economies, facilitating discussions on investment projects, technology transfers, and supply-chain partnerships across various manufacturing sectors.
